Atucha II Nuclear Power Plant, President Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner, began to deliver energy to the grid on June 27, 2014, after its construction had been stopped from 1994 to 2006.

The plant is located on the right bank of the Paraná River, in the town of Lima, Zárate District, 100 kilometres from the City of Buenos Aires and its power is 745 Mwe.

The cornerstone of this plant was laid in 1982, and in 1994 it was stopped until it was restarted in 2006.

After the completion of its construction within the framework of the reactivation of the Nuclear Plan, Atucha II reached its first criticality on June 3, 2014, and on June 27, it was synchronized with the National Interconnected System.

Atucha II is a nuclear power plant that incorporated the operational experience obtained from Atucha I.

The plant complies with all local and international requirements and, like all Argentine nuclear plants, has an Operation License granted by the Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
