Safety is Our Core Value

Safety is an essential condition for the operation of the nuclear power plants operated by Nucleoeléctrica. Nuclear activities in our country are regulated and supervised by the National State through the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (ARN), and are also subject to oversight by international bodies such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which sets strict, mandatory standards.

Nucleoeléctrica adheres to these standards and is part of international organizations such as the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) and the CANDU Operators Group (COG), ensuring safe, transparent operations aligned with the best international practices.
