Nuclear Power Plant Atucha I concluded a programed outage
Nucleoeléctrica concluded the technical revision of the Nuclear Power plant Atucha that was programed for this year. The plant is already providing energy for the entire country.

The conclusion of these tasks represents a milestone since it is the last plant outage that was performed within its first life cycle.
The Nuclear Power Plant Atucha began its construction in June of 1968 and it became the first nuclear power plant of Latin America. It was connected to the National Electric System on March 19, 1974 and it started its commercial operation on June 24 of that same year.
Atucha I is located on the right bank of the Paraná de las Palmas River, 100 km from the city of Buenos Aires in the town of Lima, Zárate District.
Currently it has an electrical gross power of 362 electrical megawatts.
Life extension of Atucha I
The life extension project of Atucha I will allow the plant to operate for a new life cycle of 20 years.
The refurbishment outage will last thirty months and it will take place between 2024 and 2026 and it will imply the creation of 2000 working positions, as well as opportunities for qualified national suppliers for the construction and fabrication of components.
This work will allow to maintain the installed nuclear power, delivering safe energy, reliable and clean for more than one million people.-
