For two weeks, the group of foreign specialists carried out a mission that took place physically at the headquarters of Nucleoeléctrica Argentina, located in Buenos Aires, with the aim of focusing on the corporate areas that provide support to Argentine nuclear power plants. The activity also included two days of work at the facilities of Atucha I-II and Embalse nuclear power plants.

For WANO, safety culture is a priority at all levels. Having this premise, in addition to reviews at the plants, reviews are carried out among corporate peers to examine the activity of the different areas of the company, focused on the support that the headquarters provides to the plants to guarantee their safe operation.

WANO Peer Review is the heart of the programs of this benchmark institution in the nuclear industry, whose main purpose is to maximize reliability and safety through common efforts in assessment, mutual support, exchange of information, and use of the best practices in the operational centres of the industry.

These reviews help WANO member companies to benchmark themselves against standards of excellence, through in-depth and objective reviews by an independent team outside its organization.
