Nucleoeléctrica is deepening the development of the new strategic pillar of its management, the sale of nuclear services to the international market. The initiative seeks to turn the experience, knowledge and capabilities built by the company into a source of commercial, technological and professional opportunities for the country.
The track record behind this decision is extensive. Nucleoeléctrica operates Argentina's three nuclear power plants — Atucha I, Atucha II and Embalse — and has carried out highly complex projects recognized by the international industry, among them the Embalse life extension, which allowed that plant to begin a new 30-year operating cycle, and the project now under way at Atucha I.
That experience consolidated highly specialized capabilities: nuclear engineering, complex project management, component manufacturing, technical inspections, and the operation and maintenance of heavy water plants. This is expertise that is scarce in the global market, which few countries and companies are in a position to offer.
Selling these services brings benefits that go beyond the company itself. It opens opportunities for the national suppliers that make up the nuclear value chain, fosters the development of skilled employment and strengthens Argentina's presence in an industry of worldwide strategic importance.
With this new pillar, Nucleoeléctrica broadens its profile and, alongside generating safe, efficient and reliable electricity for the country, projects its capabilities out to the world, establishing Argentina as a player with proven experience in the international nuclear sector.
